Uniquely Blended Education

Our elementary program is designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning through a uniquely blended educational approach. Combining elements from Montessori, Waldorf, Charlotte Mason, and Reggio Emilia philosophies, our curriculum fosters a holistic and interconnected understanding of the world.

By integrating the best practices from multiple pedagogies, we cultivate independent thinking, a deep connection to the environment, and a sense of wonder in every student, preparing them for academic success and lifelong growth.

A Classroom with No Walls

Recognizing the need for learning beyond the classroom, we expand educational experiences to our outdoor environments. Cosmic Roots sits on 18 acres in the heart of Georgetown, TX. This land happens to be an Edwards Aquifer and Berry Springs recharge zone. It presents a unique opportunity to educate children about environmental conservation, and sustainable practices, as well as understand our social responsibility through working with agencies like TCEQ and the USDA to work with their space in a socially responsible manner.

The rich and diverse mineral content of the soil will support diverse agricultural activities, allowing students to learn about permaculture, gardening, and sustainable food production firsthand.

Project-Based Learning

At Cosmic Roots, our students thrive through project-based learning that seamlessly integrates earth science, language, art, and history, fostering advanced writing, critical thinking, and reading skills. We begin with story-based lessons that spark imagination and provide a broad perspectives. These lessons are enriched with hands-on activities, nature exploration, and artistic expression, creating a dynamic and engaging learning experience.

The Herd Instinct

In the elementary years, social interests are strong. Dr. Montessori referred to this as the "herd instinct." Lessons and projects are conducted in small groups, fostering a sense of community and encouraging students to challenge themselves and support one another.
